2008/2009 Executive


President - Holly Hayman

Holly, now a 4th year management student at UWO, has been involved with horses since the age of 4 and has competed at all levels from the pony hunters up through the big eqs, high junior/Am jumpers and even some small grand prixs. In 2007 Holly worked on advancing her riding by taken a semester off and travelling to Europe and then to Winter Equestrian Festival in Florida so she could ride with some of the worlds greatest equestrians. Holly returned home with not only a new appretiation and knowledge for equestrian sport but also an individual show jumping silver medal from the world student riding finals. Now back in Ontario she can’t be more thrilled than to have the opportunity to help advance the Ontario University Equestrian Assosiation into a new level of excellence.
Holly wishes everyone a great show season and is looking forward to seeing everyone in the 2008/2009 school year!



Vice President - Jennifer Butkus

Jenny has an Honours Bachelor of Arts in English literature and is currently in her second year of law at UWO. She has been riding since she was little and has competed in hunters, jumpers, dressage and eventing, from schooling shows up to the A circuit. She also has some judging and course-designing experience. Jenny is the Vice-President of the UWO Equestrian Team and has been a part of the team from the beginning and is proud to have watched it grow. This year she hopes to encourage the same growth in the OUEA, to make sure that the shows run well and smoothly and to ensure that the 2008/2009 show season is a blast for all of its competitors!



Secretary - Sydney Sims

Sydney is in her 4th and final year at the University of Waterloo studying Environment and Resource Studies. She has been riding and working with horses since she was seven and has competed in many disciplines including hunter, jumper, dressage, and eventing. Sydney has been one of the founding members of the UW equestrian club and is currently the vice-president of the club. Sydney is looking forward to meeting many of the competitors at the OUEA shows, so come say hi!



Treasurer - Danny Ingratta

Danny in is his 4th year at the University of Guelph studying Animal Biology and has been involved with Guelph Equestrian for 3 years. He has been around horses since he was 8 and competing in hunter/jumper schooling shows. Later in life he was converted to Western riding and with his AQHA gelding Shi Mr. Mito (AKA Colby), they compete in most of the western disciplines such as western pleasure, performance, barrels, and poles as well as team penning and sorting. He helped run the pass Guelph OUEA shows and has a lot of experience with organizing and running horse showing events. He would like to welcome the new members of the OUEA and is looking forward to starting another season of shows and University Competition.



Website Coordinator - Allison Rittenhouse

Allison is an Arts and Business Co-operatve education student at the University of Waterloo. Her major is Rhetoric and Professional Writing, her business specialization is Digital Arts Communications, and her minor is in Computer Science. Allison has been riding since grade four and has shown on the Trillium Hunter Jumper Circuit and FEI Dressage. Allison is excited to be part of the OUEA and looks forward to meeting you at events.
